HIGH SCHOOL TEAM ACADEMIC AWARD

The 2016-2017 Dreher girls' soccer team under Coach David Kleinfelder received the High School Team Academic Award from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.  The team's GPA of 4.63 was the highest reported among the 217 participating teams nation-wide.

The Team Academic Award was created to recognize student athletes' commitment to excellence in the classroom. This annual award is based on a team's academic performance for the entire academic year.  For a team to be considered, it must have a composite team grade point average of at least 3.25 (on a 4.0 scale) for all team members who appear on the official eligibility roster for the season, and the coach must be a current United Soccer Coaches member.  If a school has a weighted GPA, that team GPA may be used.  All players on the roster must be included in the calculation of the team GPA. An official roster must be submitted with the nomination form.

Retiring Coach David Kleinfelder celebrated his 500th career win on April 10, 2018, when his girls' soccer team defeated Chapin.  Coach Kleinfelder has been teaching and coaching for 40 years.
