2019 State Swimming Championships
2019 State AAAA Swim Championships
The State AAAA Swim Meet took place on Saturday, October 13, at the USC Natatorium. The Dreher swim teams had a fantastic meet. The girls team finished sixth overall and the boys team finished seventeenth. Coaches Kelly Veeder and Lauren Dillon were extremely proud that six school records were broken.
Finishes in the top twenty in the State scored points for our teams:
Hayley Mason earned a place on the podium in both of her individual races, finishing second in the 100 yard backstroke and second in the 100 yard freestyle.
Jane Koch also earned a place on the podium for finishing third in the 50 yard free. Jane was seventh in the 100 yard butterfly.
Eleanor Wachtel was fourth in the 200 yard free and fifth in the 100 yard free.
Both the girls' 200 yard free and 400 yard free relays of Jane Koch, Lydia Conte, Eleanor Wachtel and Hayley Mason finished second in the State AAAA.
Lydia Conte was 14th in the 100 yard backstroke. Hannah Ammons was 16th in the 100 yard breaststroke and 20th in the 200 yard individual medley.
The girls' 200 yard medley relay team of Lydia Conte, Lillian Ammons, Hannah Ammons and Francie Shavo finished 12th.
Walker Stewart was fifth in the 200 yard free and eighth in the 500 free.
Swimming on the 14th place boys' medley relay team were Walker Stewart, Lleyton Harrison, Achilles Hahn and Landon Harrison. The 200 free relay team of Walker Stewart, Landon Harrison, Lleyton Harrison and Achilles Hahn also finished 14th.
