Arts at Dreher - 2021-2022
Four large scale murals were created by students in the National Art Honor Society and Dreher's Art Club, directed by teacher Katie Pfrommer. Students designed and painted realistic frames as eye-catching focal points for Dreher's Permanent Collection of Student Work.

Larrabee Ellenberg Displays "Mind Games" - Now Hanging in Counseling Department
Visual Arts students of Art teachers Katie Pfrommer and Jennifer Gorlewski have been busy brightening the walls around Dreher.
The members of the Art Club and the National Art Honor Society painted four large-scale murals on the first floor, framing student art from the permanent collection. In case you cannot visit us to appreciate it, enjoy their work at this link: Large-Scale Murals Frame Student Artwork.
In the Counseling Department, a colorful and collaborative effort by Ms. Pfrommer's Art III Honors Class entitled Mind Games now enlivens a heretofore blank wall. Sophomore Larrabee Ellenberg's overall design (shown below) was selected by her classmates, who each then contributed their own unique, artistic voice to the piece.
Never to be outdone, senior students of Ms. Gorlewski painted a mural (shown below) on the first floor "Arts Hall:"
(left to right) Sean Adams, Jimmy DuPlessis, Allison Zeck, Lee Burney, Aja Beck, and Maggie Shavo.
Jimmy DuPlessis approached Ms. Gorlewski with an idea to paint a mural featuring all the visual and performing arts at Dreher. With the OK from Ms. Gorlewski and Principal Dr. Hasinger, Jimmy coordinated and led a team of six senior visual artists. The group chose Maggie Shavo's design, and even color choices were voted upon. The mural features four Blue Devils, illustrating instrumental and vocal music, dance, visual art, and theatre.
Ms. Gorlewski remarked, “I am so proud of this group of artists. They worked well together, spending a lot of their free time working on this project. I am so pleased with the end result. I love that I can see the mural every day and remember these students."
Congratulations to the following winners at the Richland One Art Show. The talent of these artists has been nurtured by their art teachers, Jennifer Gorlewski and Katie Phrommer.
